A technology-focused organisation based in Coventry is seeking an experienced Lead Test Engineer to take ownership of quality assurance across a suite of C#/.NET applications and API-driven services.
This is a hands-on leadership role, offering a blend of technical testing and team leadership within a collaborative, engineering-led environment.
The Role
As Lead Test Engineer, you’ll be responsible for defining and driving the testing strategy while remaining actively involved in day-to-day testing activities. You’ll work closely with software engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery across backend systems and APIs.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and own the testing strategy for C#/.NET software

Hands-on testing across backend applications and APIs

Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases

API testing using Postman (collections, environments, automation)

Review requirements and ensure robust test coverage

Identify, track, and manage defects through to resolution

Mentor and support junior and mid-level QA engineers

Champion QA best practices, tools, and processes

Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment
Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Test Engineer

Strong experience testing C# / .NET applications

Solid API testing experience using Postman

Strong understanding of QA methodologies and SDLC

Experience working in Agile environments

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Skills

Test automation experience

CI/CD and DevOps exposure

Microservices or distributed systems testing
