Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 + Benefits

Our client is seeking a Head of Data to lead the modernisation of their data ecosystem as they transition to a cloud-first approach. This role offers the opportunity to work across private and public cloud infrastructures, establish a robust Data Services function, and drive their data strategy in partnership with diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a data modernisation strategy: Oversee the transformation of their existing data platforms to deliver enhanced capabilities, reliability, and performance.
  • Build and lead a dynamic Data Services team: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team to meet evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product, service delivery, and technical stakeholders to implement a cohesive and forward-thinking data strategy.
  • Streamline data services integration: Align their data platforms with CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of new products and features.
  • Ensure operational excellence: Drive platform reliability, observability, and innovation, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in data strategy and governance: Demonstrated ability to define and implement effective data frameworks in complex environments.
  • Advanced technical knowledge: Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and SQL platforms, with exposure to Microsoft Fabric being a significant advantage.
  • Comprehensive data management experience: Strong background in data integration, storage, and analytics solutions tailored for enterprise environments.
  • Operational leadership: Track record of managing 24/7 operations, including out-of-hours escalation management and ensuring high system availability.
