Job Title: Director of Engineering – Fintech

Location: London (Hybrid)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £145,000 – £160,000 + Benefits + Bonus

We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering for a Fintech organisation to help shape and design platforms across the business. You will act as Strategic Technology Leader and will help shape the long-term Engineering vision. This role is ideal for someone who brings structure, clarity, and strong strategic thinking.

You will be responsible for:

Designing and building high-performing teams and drive improvements across people and technology.

You will establish architectural principles, AI Target Operating Model, standards, and governance frameworks that support agility and regulatory compliance.

Partner with senior leaders to align technology direction with business strategy and product roadmaps.

Experience working in a Fintech organisation ideally in the payments sector which is going through a digital transformation journey.

Experience

• Extensive experience as an Engineering Lead along with strong experience in Fintech.
• Proven experience operating at board level implementing technology roadmaps in financial services or regulated environments.
• Deep expertise in Payments.
• Strong Product thinking and the ability to work with product teams to help define roadmaps
• Deep understanding of software architecture, system design and configuring complex systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
