Lead C# Backend Developer

Location: Central London (Onsite) Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 Type: Permanent Sponsorship: Not available (must be UK-based)

Overview

We are working with an established software house based in Central London who are looking to hire a Lead C# Backend Developer to join their growing engineering team.

This is a fully onsite role, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems using C# and .NET Framework

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers

• Take ownership of backend architecture and ensure best practices are followed

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including front-end, QA, and product

• Contribute to system design, performance optimisation, and code quality

• Participate in code reviews and promote clean, maintainable coding standards

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

Key Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Framework

• Deep understanding of backend development principles and architecture

• Strong experience working with SQL and relational databases

• Proven experience in a Lead or Senior Developer position

• Experience building scalable, high-performance applications

• Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Desirable Skills

• Experience with modern .NET (Core / .NET 6+)

• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

• Experience working in an Agile environment
